Tech I use

To bring my ideas to life, I leverage the power of modern web development tools. I primarily focus on JavaScript as a versatile and powerful language for creating interactive web experiences. For code editing, I currently use Visual Studio Code, which provides syntax highlighting, code completion, and debugging features to streamline the development process. In addition, I utilize tools like Git hub to manage code versions and collaborate effectively on projects. This combination of technologies allows me to efficiently craft clean and maintainable code.

This was my first attempt at cloning a website. As you can see there is more to work on but it taught me a lot about stylings and how to use the developer tools to get the information you need. It also took a lot of attention to detail in order to make it as similar to the original as possible, so much so that I had to add lorem to the bottom of the page in order to tell them apart!

Calculator

I gained a deeper understanding of JavaScript with this project, particularly in functions, event handling, and DOM manipulation, which was essential for creating interactive features. The project enhanced my debugging and problem-solving skills, allowing me to identify and fix errors effectively. I also developed my understanding of responsive design by implementing CSS techniques that ensured the application looked great like the calculator's 3D buttons!

Fundraising Thermometer

My early version of the charity thermometer project was designed to visually represent fundraising progress on my mum’s workplace website. Using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, I built an interactive gauge that updated dynamically to reflect the current total against the goal. This project helped me strengthen my skills in creating engaging visual components and manipulating the DOM for real-time data updates.

FilmFlix Film Database Application

This project is an application developed in Python for managing a movie database for FilmFlix. The application allows for adding, updating, deleting, and viewing movies in the database. The application utilizes functions for CRUD operations (Create, Read, Update, Delete) ensuring a smooth user experience. I learned how to integrate database queries with Python and gained experience working with exception handling to manage potential errors.
